Open letter to Ford:
I thought my 2013 C-MAX would be a Prius Killer? NOT! As a returning Ford buyer I feel deceived. I want to support US companies and US jobs. What was Ford thinking when they published 47/ 47/47 estimates? Based on the advertised EPA estimates, I would have been ok with low 40’s but 28-33 mpg is not even in the ballpark. This is not an issue about EPA testing standards, but rather an issue about setting false customer expectations in order to promote sales. Ford’s “47MPG” marketing campaign tarnished what should have been the roll out of a truly remarkable vehicle, the CMAX. Real world MPG estimates should have been promoted in the mid-30’s. No one would have questioned those numbers and the CMAX would have received the accolades it deserves. How these MPG estimates made it through Ford corporate is beyond me! Maybe it was the rush to go to market?

I have been accused of not knowing how to drive hybrid. For the record, during the last three years I have leased both a 2010 Prius and 2010 Honda Insight Hybrid, and consider myself an experienced hyper-miler. My mileage in the Prius is 50 plus, the Insight is 40 plus. The C-MAX is a well-built car, with extremely inflated EPA estimates.

I respectfully request that this matter be investigated as soon as possible. My efforts to deal with this locally and through Ford customer service have frustrated me to no end. The constant response? “You need to learn to how to drive hybrid type of vehicle “. Is there a difference how I drive Prius Hybrid vs. the CMAX hybrid? I think we all know the answer to that. I need someone at Ford to reach out to me and assist in a proactive manner so we can put this matter to rest. I have opted not to join the class action lawsuit regarding this matter in order to explore my resolution options with Ford directly feeling this was the most honest approach to the matter. Can I expect the same from Ford in return?

What about the Honda Fit all electric vehicle? I think that’s a car from Honda to keep in mind, but it’s a lease only option for the first few years at least.

Have you ever noticed the wind generated by passing cars and trucks on a highway? A semi can’t almost blow you over. Why not put small solar/wind turbines along the road to charge these capacitance induction chargers for electric cars as they drive past? Convert wasted wind, natural wind and solar energy into electricity for motorists. No power lines to string up, don’t need to tear up the pavement.

Hmm… How much Obama stimulus $$$$ did this co. get? Its the $25,00 – $40,000 price tag that makes me wonder. Sounds too low to include building the factory to make only 100,000 units per year. Mby.. But Im skepticle.

I had a 1998 Elantra when I was in college. It had a 1.8-litre twin-cam engine which was enough for car of this size (127hp) but it wasn’t very economical – the mileage was about 9l/100KM in the city. On the other the car was absolutely flawless – I had it for four years and I only had to change the muffler (salted roads…) and the cam sensor. We were checking the new Elantra with my wife at the Canadian Auto Show and we really like its new sporty image but I am very suspicious about the mileage – 6.9l/100KM in the city for a 1200kg car with 148hp? This doesn’t really seem very credible to me. I am going to research more about this and if these numbers are true then maybe we will consider buying it.

It would be a wise move on the part of China to stop their incessant “Data-Mining” of other honest work. Then they should, that is, “SHOULD”, bunot nessesarily will build universities, that both study, and teach all the heretical science, that is laughed at by America’s, and Europes Universities.
China has a unique position right now. Oil Companies cannot yet control their
Government, and therefor can not limit their concepualisation of possible
technologies. If China choses the path of war, then the world will most likely
play out a mass extinction of humanity, looking like anouther mars or venus.
Those in the 2-3 mile deep bunkers will not survive. They will end in canibalism…
