Tesla has just announced a recall on 439 of its Rodasters due to a recently discovered redundant auxiliary cable rubbing against a panel. The cable, which acts as a backup to the primary wire for various electrical systems, was apparently lacking a protective sleeve it required.
This is only a concern for 2.0 and 2.5 Tesla Roadsters so those who were first up getting their Roadsters will be rewarded with not having to get their high-end electric cars in as the 1.5 versions are fine.
Not that those who do need work done really have much in way of being inconvenience. Tesla Motors service rangers will come to owner’s homes and office and install the protective sheaf there. A process which takes about one hour.
If you have one of these newer Roadsters, you’ll want to contact your Tesla Motors and get this all sorted out.
