Fiat says the two-cylinder TwinAir might be on its way to North America. This cartoon-y little car will not only get 57.4 MPG, it will also have super low carbon emissions – 92 g/km of CO2. How does that compare to the hybrid leading Prius? 50 MPG and 89 g/km of CO2. It features a turbocharged engine and start-stop technology. An eco mode allows the driver to cut torque to boost fuel economy.
Fiat says the TwinAir will do zero to 100 km/hr in 11 seconds and top out at 107 mph. A TwinAir 500 will go for $16,775 in Italy, so lets assume that number will be substantially higher in the North American markets.
