Video: Shaviat Adjustable Electric Motorcycle

If you can’t decide whether you’d rather cruise in comfort or rip around corners on a crotch rocket, the Shaviat, an adjustable electric motorcycle concept, may be just what you’re looking for.

This concept electric bike has the transformer-like to morph with the handlebars, footpads and seat all being adjustable. Add in the fact that this baby is pure EV and you’ve got your self an eye-catching concept. Check the video above for an example of the Shaviat’s morphing ability.

Orphio Brings Style to Electric Motorcycles

Orphio will be selling an electric motorcycle soon that brings a much needed sense of style to the electric bike world. It has an old-school design with luscious curves and bronze accents that remind you of a time when appearance mattered more but with one crucial difference, there’s no great big gas-powered engine. Just an elegant and silent ride.

Am I gushing? Sorry.

The Dutch-designed electric motorcycle has a 60-mile range and a top speed of 75 miles per hour which makes me gush a little less, but hey, it’s still good for whipping around town.

The Orphiro will likely be available in the fall of this year but production will be limited and there’s been no official cost announced yet.

The Zero S Electric Motorcycle Unveiled

Zero Motorcycles has finally revealed its new street-legal electric motorcycle. The Zero S is similar to the Zero off-road version, the Zero X, but also boasts highway tires and a “projector beam” headlight.

The Zero S packs 31 horses and 62.5 lb ft of torque. There’s no clutch, which might suck the fun out of riding for some while others will love the fast and smooth acceleration. It has a range of 60 miles, tops speed of 60mph and can recharge in less than four hours.

Although you can’t actually get your hands on a Zero S until early May, Zero Motorcycles is accepting orders for them now. A down payment of $1,000 will secure one for you in May. The full cost will be $9,950 USD and the Zero S can be shipped anywhere in the lower 48 states for $500.

Brammo Electric Motorcycles Coming to a Best Buy Stores

Next time your stop in at a Best Buy to pick up some batteries, a new video game or a new computer monitor, you might want to check out their new electric motorcycle section.

Yep, that’s correct, Best Buy invested a large amount of money in Brammo Motorsports is not only an investor but a retailer for their new Brammo electric motorcycle – the Brammo Enertia.

The Brammo Enertia will be available in five select Best Buy stores along the West Coats this May. Presumably if sales are sufficient we’ll see them spread to other Best Buy regions.

What is particularly cool about this is what Brammo CEO Craig Bramscher said of the Brammo Enertia, “What we’re selling is a lot closer to consumer electronics than to transportation.”

Bramscher is referring to the fact that the Enertia boasts features like a built-in Web server and APIs that will be open to third-party application developers.

The Best Buy “Geek Squad” who normally perform on site tech support for things like computers, will also perform limited repairs on the Enertia on things like brakes, tires and electronic components.

The Brammo Enertia will sell for $12,000. It has a top speed of over 50 mph, a 45-mile and a recharge time of around three hours.

Expect to see a two-seat version of the Brammo Enertia next year with a top speed of around 100 mph and range of about 75 miles.
