Ready to check out the trailer for the upcoming film Revenge of the Electric Car? Well it’s all edited and ready to rock but director, Chris Paine is sitting on it until he gets 10,000 Facebook fans for the Revenge of the Electric Car Facebook Page.
Revenge is the second film in Paine’s series about the state of the electric car industry. It follows the often lauded (in the green sector anyway) Who Killed the Electric Car?, which chronicled the production and subsequent bizarre scuttling of electric vehicles.
The highly regarded documentary, Who Killed the Electric Car, took a critical look at General Motors and its motives for ending production on the EV1 electric car.
Now, the people behind the doc, including director Chris Paine, are shooting on the floor of the GM Chevy Volt production facility. The new footage will go towards a sequel coming out next year called, Revenge of the Electric Car.
The crew shot the “birth” of the 100th pre-production Chevy Volt electric vehicle, a fitting scene considering the last film ended with the “death” of the EV1.
Barack Obama’s inauguration was watched and celebrated by millions of Americans. Among them were the proud electric vehicle owners and supporters of the Plug In America parade. The parade of electric vehicles was organized to urge the Obama administration to help attain the goal of seeing one million electric vehicles on the road by 2010.
The video of the Santa Monica EV parade gives you a look at plenty of cool electric vehicles inside and out. There are also several speakers who are well-known in the eco auto world including the director of “Who Killed the Electric Car?”, Chris Paine and California State Senator Fran Pavley among several others.
Chris Paine, director of the documentary “Who Killed the Electric Car”, is currently in production on another documentary, “Revenge of the Electric Car.”
Paine’s latest film will delve deep into everything related to electric cars, from the who’s who of the EV industry to the how changes in culture are leading to more demand for electric cars.
The film is primarily about the electric car renaissance going on right now and promises to take an honest look at whether this is passing fad or if electric vehicles can truly topple the reign of gas-powered vehicles.
