The 2011 Lincoln MKZ hybrid has been officially certified by the EPA as the most fuel efficient luxury sedan in the U.S. market. 41 mpg in city driving and 36 mpg on the highway were the magic numbers that it took for this luxury hybrid to be able to make this claim.
It is powered by the same 2.5L Atkinson-cycle I-4 hybrid engine found in the Ford Fusion Hybrid . When working together, the gasoline engine and the electric-motor both put out a net 191-hp. The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is also capable of cruising in pure electric mode at speeds of up to 47 mph, compared to the Lexus HS250h’s 25 mph on pure battery power.
