The Lexus HS 250h was revealed today at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show and it turned plenty of heads. The ultra stylish hybrid vehicle is described by Lexus as “the world’s first dedicated luxury hybrid.”

The Lexus HS 250h is the fourth model of Lexus hybrid. This hybrid is not a concept car but will in fact be on dealer lots this summer. Great news considering that it has several environmentally friendly features to accompany its beautiful design.

It uses a 2.4 liter 187hp engine that boasts an exhaust heat recovery system and variable valve timing for maximum efficiency. It’s windshield uses infrared-ray reduction technology that reduces the need for air-conditioning. Lexus seems particularly proud of the front, rear, rear under spoilers and several other aerodynamic perks that result in a 0.27 drag coefficient. All of which contributes to what Lexus says, is a fuel economy 30% better than any other model in its lineup.

Adding to the vehicles environmental friendliness is the use of a bio-plastic throughout the interior, which Lexus claims will result in a 20% reduction in lifecycle CO2 emissions.
